Hmmm see it's snowing outside my little boat. Marvellous. Just toying with an idea for a story for 5-8 year olds. A boy who doesn't need or want superpowers, shrinking grandfathers, magical friends, backless wardrobes, winning tickets to chocolate factories or to be especially horrid to his little brother. Remember when you were very young how the tiniest thing could be a taste of pure surprise and wonder? The patterns chasing across your bedroom ceiling made by car lights going past. The feel of chilly pjs as your toes went hesitantly down the leg The smell of frost. Such things get chased away so quickly in so-called adult life. Those wiser than me tell us that if you have one wish you should wish for all to be exactly as it is... precisely... now. The universe rewards such wisdom. After all, you arranged all this yourself, sometime, somewhere....
